Sugar-free oatmeal cookies without butter

Sugar-free oatmeal cookies without butter are an excellent choice for breakfast and as a snack for children and adults. They are versatile and work with many other foods.

Sugar-free oatcakes without butter are real treats and also do not contain all the added sugar, trans fat, and salt that you find in commercial products.

Making cookies at home allows you to replace all the useless ingredients with better varieties that add nutrition to your diet.

The benefits of oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the most consumed grains in the world. Its high nutritional value makes it stand out from other cereals and it contains a lot of protein and fiber.

Among its many advantages, it is important to point out:

Digestive diseases

Oatmeal is a good regulator of intestinal transit thanks to its high content of soluble and insoluble fibers. Consumption of it is recommended to relieve symptoms of gastritis, sour stomach, and hemorrhoids.

This is because it protects the mucous membranes in the digestive system. Furthermore, its soluble fibers have a prebiotic effect that promotes the quality of the intestinal flora.

Gallbladder health

Regular consumption of oatmeal can contribute to a reduction of bile salts during digestion, which promotes their expulsion and cleansing of the gallbladder.

This counteracts the formation of gallstones and colic.

Cardiovascular diseases

The fiber content in oatmeal reduces the absorption of cholesterol and thus regulates cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Its low-fat content also promotes good heart function.

Recipe for sugar-free oatmeal cookies

Here are two different recipes for sugar-free oatmeal cookies. Note that the difference between them lies in the type of fruit you use as a sweetener instead of refined sugar.

1. Oatcakes with dates and apple

  • 1 large ripe apple, grated

  • Then place some chopped almonds on top of the cookies and bake for 6-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool until they are crispy and ready to eat.

2. Oatcakes with banana and chocolate

Recipe for good sugar cake with honey

One of these honey sponge cake recipes also includes glühwein – a spicy German wine that is usually served hot. If you don’t drink alcohol, you can remove it from the recipe because the sponge cake can be made without it.

Today we are sharing a recipe for sugar cake with honey, which has a golden, soft appearance. This sponge cake is suitable for any occasion, formal or informal.

Another great thing about this cake is that it is easy to make.

You can substitute any ingredients you want to make it fit your diet (that is, with the exception of honey, its main ingredient ).

Vegetable milk instead of dairy products, for example, means that the cake contains fewer calories and gets a more emphasized honey taste.

But since milk contains about 3% fat, cakes with it will be stronger, denser, and moister.

As for spices, the ones this recipe calls for are aromatic. Note that some people add a little more ginger to enhance the flavor of this honey sponge cake. You can fine-tune it according to your taste.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with spices in desserts, because the result will be delicious, regardless!

Sugar cake with honey

Ingredients

  • The juice from an orange
  • 335 g of honey
  • ½ tsk salt
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 500 g of flour
  • 4 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 7 1/2 dl vegetable drink or milk
  • ½ tsp anise seeds
  • Optional: fresh orange juice, raisins, nuts (whole or powdered)
  • Vegetable oil (as needed)

Preparation

  • First, preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  • Cut the orange and set it aside.
  • Then place the dry ingredients in a bowl (not the orange) and stir until smooth.
  • Then make a hole in the center of the bowl to pour the liquid ingredients there; i.e. the milk and honey (if you choose the glühwein version, now is the time to add it. See instructions below.)
  • Then add the juice from the orange and continue mixing all the ingredients with a hand mixer to get a smooth mixture and remove any lumps.
  • Let the cake mix rest for 15 minutes at room temperature, so that the ingredients mix and acquire a spicy, intense, pleasant aroma.
  • Then grease a cake tin with vegetable oil and pour the mixture into it. Using a spoon or spatula, distribute the mixture evenly.
  • Place in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes. When the surface is raised and golden, poke a fork or toothpick into it. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. If not, bake for another 10 minutes. Repeat the process until it is done.
  • When it’s done, take it out and let it cool at room temperature, covered with a clean, dry cloth (not near a heat source).
  • While the cake is still warm, carefully invert it onto a tray and let it cool for at least 10 minutes.
  • Now that the honey sponge cake is ready to serve, sprinkle some orange peel on top of it. You can also add some orange slices on the side.

A German twist

This is a German recipe, but it is also common in other countries, such as France and Belgium. However, the original recipe calls for glühwein.

Ingredients for mulled wine

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • The peel of 1 lemon
  • The peel from 1 orange
  • 7 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • 3 glasses of red wine or mulled wine

Preparation

  • First, place a saucepan over low heat, then add the wine. Do not let it boil.
  • Add the spices and stir constantly with a spoon.
  • Then add the sugar and stir occasionally until it dissolves completely.
  • After that, strain the liquid and set it aside.
  • Prepare sugar cake with honey according to the recipe above, but this time add glühwein after step number four.

Sugar cake with honey is a fairly simple recipe and yet a very popular dessert thanks to its delicious taste.

Generally, this cake is not decorated, but you can add a layer of dark chocolate or sprinkle some cocoa or powdered sugar on it; you can also garnish it with nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.

Delicious homemade donuts with dulce de leche filling

The secret ingredient in these delicious homemade donuts is dulce de leche filling. You can buy these donuts in stores, but they always taste better when you bake them at home.

Who wouldn’t want to taste delicious homemade donuts with dulce de leche filling? They are soft, freshly baked, and with the unique and delicious flavor that only the dulce de leche cream can add. Because it’s something you can bake yourself, you can also control how much sugar you add.

It is a traditional recipe in many Spanish-speaking places around the world. Regardless of where you eat them, they have a unique flavor that makes them completely irresistible. Let’s focus on what makes this dessert so delicious.

High sugar content

Before you bake these doughnuts, you should be aware of the pastry’s high sugar and carbohydrate content. It wouldn’t be kind if we didn’t tell you right away. But that doesn’t mean you have to avoid this recipe.

Your eating habits and lifestyle should more or less determine whether you want to prepare desserts like this. Another thing you need to think about is the number of donuts you eat. If you can control your portions, you will be able to avoid too much sugar.

The texture of this dessert has a lot to do with how you prepare the cake batter itself. It is similar to the batter you prepare to bake a soft cookie, but the texture of this batter is firmer and more malleable. To get this consistency, you need to use an ingredient that you probably never thought of adding to a dessert: potatoes.

Believe it or not, you will be using potatoes! But to find out how to use this little trick, keep reading to learn exactly how.

If I don’t have dulce de leche, can I use another ingredient?

Obvious! When it comes to doughnuts, there are really no limits, so you can use any filling in this recipe.

But if you have a hard time finding dulce de leche or don’t know how to cook it, don’t worry, it’s not difficult. Here is a link to a recipe so you know what ingredients you need to easily prepare this cream at home. That said, it’s also true that you won’t bake the traditional donuts if you use a different filling. In fact, the goal here is for you to discover why this simple pastry is so popular with people all over the world.

Recipe for homemade donuts with dulce de leche filling

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 dl water
  • 1 1/4 dl orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 large potato (approx. 250 g)
  • 6 1/4 dl wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 dl condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons rapeseed oil
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of icing sugar

Preparation

  1. First, you need a medium-sized saucepan. Pour in the water with orange juice, butter, and salt.
  2. Then let the ingredients melt together and stir well.
  3. Now prepare the large potato. Peel the potatoes and then boil them. When the potatoes have become soft, mash them into a puree.
  4. Add mashed potatoes, condensed milk, and eggs to the liquid mixture.
  5. Mix with a wooden spoon so that any lumps disappear.
  6. Then add wheat flour and baking powder. Then knead the dough thoroughly with your hands.
  7. It is important that there are no lumps or uneven parts in the dough. If it does, the shape of the donuts will change due to the air trapped inside.
  8. Then sprinkle some extra wheat flour on your baking table, or other hard clean surface, and continue kneading. Do not add more flour to the mixture, just on top. If the dough gets too much flour, it will be compact and not fluffy as it should be.
  9. Roll out the dough to a thickness of no more than 1.5 cm.
  10. Then cut the dough with a round cookie cutter and set aside.
  11. Let the round pieces of dough rest for 1.5 hours. This is to make them soft and fluffy.
  12. Then pour the oil into a saucepan over medium heat. Fry the donuts when the oil is hot. Each donut takes about a minute to finish.

Filling homemade doughnuts

  • To fill the doughnuts, first, make small holes in the doughnuts. Then fill a piping bag with dulce de leche cream.
  • Then inject the cream into the small holes until you have filled all the homemade doughnuts.
  • Finally, sprinkle them with sugar, let them cool, and you’re done!

Recipe for a lighter flan Napolitano

Did you know that it is possible to make flan with stevia instead of sugar? Discover a delicious and easy recipe for flan Napolitano here!

Would you like to make a lighter, sugar-free dessert? In this article, we’re going to show you a recipe for making a delicious, lighter flan Napolitano.

Flan is a dessert that is hard to resist. In fact, both kids and adults usually love it. But the best of all is that you can make it without sugar to reduce the calorie content! You will notice that it is just as delicious as classic flan.

Recipe for a lighter flan Napolitano

Flan Napolitano stands out because it is so soft and spongy. The airy texture also makes the dessert melt in your mouth and leaves you wanting more. Making this cake is actually much easier than you might think. You will see that this is a quick and delicious dessert that will surprise your whole family.

As for the nutritional content, flan is made with milk and eggs. In this recipe, we have also decided to use skimmed milk to ensure that the cake has a really low-calorie content.

It is therefore important to remember that although skimmed milk contains plenty of calcium and iodine, and has lactose and sugar in the same proportions as whole milk, it also loses vitamins A and D in the process of removing fat. If you want your flan to contain these vitamins, you should therefore use whole milk.

However, eggs are very nutritious. Among other things, they contain high-quality protein and monounsaturated fatty acids. In addition, they contain vitamins A, and B (B2, B3, B12, and folate), phosphorus, iodine, and selenium.

We have also chosen to use ricotta cheese instead of condensed milk and stevia instead of sugar to further reduce the calorie content and make a dessert that is also suitable for diabetics.

Ingredients for Flan Napolitano for 10 people

  • 6 dl skimmed milk
  • about 3.5 dl ricotta
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon stevia powder
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • vegetable oil for frying (just enough)

Ingredients for caramel

  • 50 g sucralose powder
  • 3 tbsp water
  • a little lemon juice

Make flan Napolitano like this

  1. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Whisk together the skimmed milk, ricotta cheese, and stevia with an electric whisk.
  3. Once you have a smooth mixture, add the vanilla extract and beat again. Then set aside.
  4. Prepare the caramel. To do this, place a heavy-bottomed saucepan on the stove over low heat and pour in the sucralose. Stir gently until the color becomes a sandy tone. Turn off the stove and add water and lemon juice. Stir constantly.
  5. Spray the flan pan or pans with vegetable oil.
  6. Pour the caramel into the mold and then spread the flan Napolitano mixture over it.
  7. Cover the form with aluminum foil and prepare a water bath in the oven. Pour water into a tray until it reaches up to 1/3 of the flan form that you place on the tray.
  8. Bake for about an hour at 180 degrees. Make sure the water does not evaporate. If so, add more water.
  9. Test the flank cake with a skewer. Your flan Napolitano is ready when it is no longer sticky in the middle.
  10. Allow the cake to cool so that you can easily remove it from the mold.

Some tips

  • You can use almond milk instead of skimmed milk (in the same amount).
  • You can also decorate your flan Napolitano with different kinds of fruit and berries: for example strawberries, cherries, or a mixture of berries. Take what you like!
  • If you enjoy dulce de Leche, drizzle a tablespoon of this over your flan!
  • You can also replace the ricotta cheese with condensed milk. But then be aware that the total amount of calories increases because condensed milk contains a lot of sugar.

Piña colada cheesecake without oven

The recipe that we share below is not exactly useful. But it is very good. Of course, you can adapt it to suit people who are gluten intolerant or the diet you follow. At the end of the article, we give you some ideas on how to do it.

Our recipe contains a small splash of alcohol in the form of a tablespoon of rum that you mix into the batter. If you want a kid-friendly dessert, you can just skip this ingredient, as it doesn’t affect the recipe at all.

Ingredients

For the pie shell (for a 24 cm pie tin):

  • 250 grams of digestive biscuits or similar graham crackers
  • 125 ml melted butter

For the filling:

  • 250 grams of cream cheese
  • 200 ml condensed milk
  • 150 ml coconut yogurt
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 200 grams of canned pineapple (diced)
  • 14 grams of uncolored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon white rum (optional)

Note! If you don’t like coconut yogurt, you can use regular yogurt instead.

For decoration:

  • Pineapple slices (optional)

Preparation of the piña colada cheesecake

  1. First, prepare a 24 cm mold with a removable base. To do this, grease it well. You can also put baking paper on the bottom.
  2. Then crush the graham crackers and mix them with the melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of your mold into an even and neat layer.
  3. Next, beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until it is soft and has a smooth and fluffy texture.
  4. Add yogurt and condensed milk. Whisk again.
  5. Then add the pineapple chunks and rum to the batter. Set aside.
  6. Whip the whipping cream until it forms peaks. It needs to have a fairly stiff consistency before you mix it into the rest of the filling, but don’t beat it so long that it turns into butter.
  7. Mix 1/3 of the whipped cream into the cheese mixture.
  8. Then carefully fold in the rest of the whipped cream in large, airy strokes.
  9. Follow the recommendations on the gelatin package to soak and dissolve it, then add it to the mixture. Remember to carefully fold the gelatin into the mixture so that the filling does not lose air.
  10. Then pour the filling into your mold with the graham cracker base.
  11. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
  12. Finally, decorate with pineapple slices and serve.

Piña colada cheesecake for the gluten intolerant

You can adapt the above recipe so that gluten-intolerant people can also enjoy the dreamy taste of piña colada. To do this, choose biscuits suitable for people with gluten intolerance and moisten them with water. Voilá, your bottom is ready!

For the filling you need:

  • 500 grams of cream cheese without wheat, oats, barley, and rye
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons skimmed milk (30 g)
  • 70 grams of cornstarch
  • 1 can be crushed or diced pineapple (100 g)
  • 1 tablespoon rum

Preparation

  1. Set the oven to 175°C.
  2. First, mix all the ingredients for the filling until you get a smooth and even batter.
  3. Then pour the batter over the base.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes in the lower part of the oven
  5. Allow to cool and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
  6. Decorate with pineapple.

Variations on the recipe

  • You can use a thin roll cake for the bottom if you prefer a soft cake.
  • If you don’t like cakes with pieces of fruit, you can crush the pineapple and mix the puree into the filling.
  • Having trouble whipping the cream? Here’s our trick. Place the cream in the freezer for 10 minutes before whipping it. This way it will have a better texture. If you still can’t whip it properly, you can add a tablespoon or two of sugar to help the peaks form.
  • To reduce the calorie content of the recipe, you can replace the graham crackers with biscuits with a lower calorie content and moisten them with water instead of butter. Also, replace the cream cheese with a lighter version. Also, avoid adding condensed milk (as it is rich in sugar) and replace it with yogurt.

A simple recipe for cinnamon cookies

Although cinnamon is a common ingredient in sweet baked goods, some find it difficult to tolerate the taste as it tends to dominate, not only in taste but also with its intense and characteristic aroma! So if you want to bake these cookies to invite your friends, make sure they have no problem with cinnamon.

The general recommendation when baking this cinnamon cookie recipe is to remember that the ingredients must be at room temperature and that the quantities must be exact. Here’s what you need and how to bake them step by step.

Ingredients for a recipe for cinnamon cookies

  • 1 egg
  • Salt (a pinch)
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 300 grams of white flour
  • 150 grams of white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 extra tablespoon of sugar and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon to sprinkle on top
  • 130 grams of butter, slightly warmer than room temperature (with a consistency similar to mayonnaise)

Preparation of the dough step by step

  1. To make the dough, start by beating the butter together with the sugar in a bowl until it is white and fluffy. You can do it by hand or with a mixer or electric beater.
  2. Then add the egg and beat it until you have a homogeneous batter.
  3. Mix flour with cinnamon, baking powder, and salt and sift them into a bowl.
  4. Add these ingredients half at a time to the batter using a sieve to avoid lumps.
  5. Mix with a spatula with large strokes. You may need to use your hands to mix the dough completely.
  6. Knead for 5 minutes until the dough is shiny and soft.
  7. Then wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 40 minutes in the refrigerator. When the dough has rested, it will be easier to shape the cookies.

Shape the cookies

  • After the dough has rested, make sure you have a clean sink and sprinkle some flour on it (use enough so the dough doesn’t stick). Start rolling out the dough evenly using a rolling pin.
  • When you have a dough about a centimeter thick, you can use a round cookie measure to make the cookies. That way they all get the same size. Re-knead any remaining dough, roll out and repeat the process until all the dough is used.
  • Another method you can use to shape your cookies is to roll small balls of the same size and then flatten them with your hands until they are the same thickness. With this technique, the cookies will not be perfect like the last option, but it will be faster to make them. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees while you shape your cookies.
  • Then mix the sugar with the cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle this evenly on top of the cookies.
  • Place them on a greased tray (the side with the sugar and cinnamon should be facing up) and place them in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • After this time, check that they are ready and remove them from the heat. Once they have cooled, they are prepared to eat.

Recipe for desserts with persimmons and chocolate

Have you tried combining persimmon and chocolate? Here you can read about a delicious dessert with two exotic ingredients that is here to stay. Keep reading to find out how to cook it!

The main ingredients in these delicious desserts are persimmons and chocolate. Both ingredients have recently become really popular, not least because of their impressive nutritional value. As you probably know, they are now standard products in local grocery stores.

These desserts are very simple to make but they have a surprising taste and texture that appeals to both young and old. They are desserts that you are sure to add to your repertoire of treats.

A healthy dessert with great potential

Persimmons and chocolate are two ingredients that you may want to see more of in your daily diet. They are also very versatile, as you can use them in different ways: in salads, smoothies, with yogurt, and in desserts.

Persimmon is a fruit that originally comes from Japan and China, but today you can also find it in many other countries in the world. There are many different varieties, and they all stand out for their unique taste.

We can note the high content of water, fiber, and vitamins A and C from a nutritional point of view.  They also provide antioxidants and other components that have exceptional benefits for our health.

Cocoa, on the other hand, comes from the American continent. Called the “food of the gods” by the Incan Indians, this bean first became popular in Europe because of its medicinal properties.

Natural cocoa does not contain the added sugar you find in other types of chocolate, and it is healthier to consume this food in its pure form. That’s the best way to take advantage of its potential benefits for the body – although experts point out that there isn’t enough scientific evidence behind these claims:

  • Cocoa helps protect the cardiovascular system by lowering blood pressure.
  • It contains antioxidants.
  • Finally, it improves blood circulation in the brain.

How to cook a delicious persimmon and chocolate dessert

When it comes to healthy desserts, you can achieve the most optimal results with just a few ingredients. Fruit is often the main ingredient.

Today’s dessert is a variation on flan, a traditional dessert that we find in many countries, and there are as many recipes for it as there are chefs. All you need is a little imagination and you can come up with different combinations of ingredients and flavors yourself.

The most common cooking methods are to cook it in a water bath, or bain-marie, and you can use fruit and vegetable juices, or change the traditional recipe and make a sugar-free version.

Option 1: A chocolate and

persimmon

dessert without sugar, eggs, or milk

This option only requires a small amount of pure cocoa and some ripe persimmons, that’s all. It only takes a few minutes to do.

Ingredients for 6 servings

  • 800 g persimmons (the weight of the peeled and cut fruit)
  • 60 g 100% cocoa powder

How to use

  1. First, peel and cut the persimmons into medium-sized pieces and blend to a creamy consistency.
  2. Then add cocoa and mix until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Then pour into serving bowls and cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Refrigerate for at least six hours (overnight if possible)
  5. Take your dessert out of the fridge and enjoy!

The creamy texture makes this dessert a hit (it may be a little different from a traditional flan dessert, but the result is at least as good).

This dessert can be included in the list of sugar-free desserts because it contains only natural sugar. It’s about the same as directly eating the fruit with cocoa.

This recipe is also excellent for many people with common food intolerances and allergies eg eggs and milk. This variant is also suitable for people with celiac disease, but then you have to be careful to use 100% cocoa.

Those who prefer a sweeter taste can choose to add some type of sweetener. This although it is always better to get used to the pure taste of the fruit. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or vanilla to enhance the flavor if you think your dessert needs it.

Option 2: Dessert with persimmons and chocolate with eggs

This dessert is similar to the most traditional type of flan, but it is prepared with fruit as the main ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ripe persimmons
  • 40 g 100% cocoa powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 100 g of sugar for the caramel sauce

How to use

  1. First, peel and chop the persimmons and set aside.
  2. Then make the caramel sauce by heating 100g of sugar in a saucepan and a small amount of water. Allow heating gently, constantly stirring, until the sugar melts and takes on a deep brown, but not burnt, color. Immediately pour into the mold and turn the mold so that the caramel covers the bottom.
  3. Mix fruit and cocoa, the consistency should be thick and smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the rest of the sugar. Then add this mixture to the previous one and mix well. Pour everything into the mold containing the caramel and cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake your dessert at 180 degrees for one hour or cook it in a water bath for the same time. Your dessert will be ready when none of the pudding sticks to a skewer inserted into the center of the pan.
  6. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool completely. Then leave it in the fridge for at least two hours (you can prepare your dessert the day before you intend to serve it for better texture and taste).

You can reduce the sugar content in this recipe by skipping the caramel and instead sprinkling some chopped nuts on top when you take it out of the pan.

Chocolate and persimmon in desserts

The two versions are relatively easy and you can cook them in a short time (but you have to wait until they are completely cold before eating them). That’s why these can make two of your best desserts, and they’re perfect for any time of the week.

Remember that the first recipe is perfect as an everyday dessert, and you may want to save the second for special occasions.

Garnish your dessert with crispy wafers or cookies when serving, you can also sprinkle some chopped nuts on top.

This type of dessert is a great way to add more fruit to your diet and increase variety. The beautiful color of the persimmons gives us a clue about their remarkable contribution of vitamins, antioxidants, and beta-carotene.

Finally, chocolate lovers will enjoy the delicious taste of real chocolate.  You can get used to the bitterness, so don’t be afraid to try a few times.

Namely, this is the best way to get the most out of the benefits of cocoa. This plant has been valued for thousands of years in pre-Columbian cultures in what is now Mexico.
